Home. Barley Field

My name is Sally and welcome to my page. I am committed to providing Psychotherapy and Counselling in a safe and confidential environment. I am able to work in short term Counselling work and longer term work in Psychotherapy. I am trained to work in many areas particularly Trauma, Depression, Anxiety and Relationship difficulties. Covid 19 has meant the demand for online Counselling and Psychotherapy has risen and I provide this service also. My qualifications enable me to work with Adults, Couples and Young People. I work from Weymouth and provide a zoom service. I have worked with online clients from Dorset and London and as far afield as Australia.

Relationships are integral to our emotional health and well being. Relationships from the past and present can really impact on what we think and how we feel about ourselves right now, in the here and now. When we grow we are like sponges and what we absorb from what is happening around us can be vital in our emotional and cognitive development. The relationship we have with ourselves and how we are towards ourselves can be influenced by this. It is therefore possible that what we have experienced in the past might be influencing the choices we are making right now in the present. To be curious about this can be enlightening in order to help us understand ourselves more.

Finding the right person to work with is important, to be "really" heard and understood is integral to the therapeutic process and can be very healing. Some clients come with certain goals others might not be sure, both are okay. Psychotherapy and Counselling whether this is face to face or online can enable better communication as well as providing an enhanced understanding of yourself and others around you. Understanding each other in relationships, to seek understanding helps build empathy, intimacy and closeness. It also helps to build honesty and authenticity.

I work on an open-ended basis or for an agreed period of time. The aim is to enable you to enhance your life and to live it more fully. We will work together in a collaborative way that will help you explore your patterns and your experience of difficulties.

As I am trained and qualified in relationship theory and practice I am able to work with more than one person at a time. I worked with Relate the relationship charity for over 12 years. I now work in Private Practice and for EAP providers, providing support to businesses and organisations in the area. I have a specific interest in development in and around relationships and how this "might" play itself out in later life as adults.
